COMMUNITY CAREGIVERS RECEIVES JACKPOT FROM FILOTIMO CASINO
August 9, 2021 – Jackpot!!!! After participating in ten days of charitable gaming at Manchester’s Filotimo Casino the Community Caregivers of Greater Derry received a check in the amount of $58,696.70. The unrestricted funds will help the local nonprofit with its mission of serving the elderly and disabled.
Community Caregivers of Greater Derry (CCGD) helps with practical assistance and support to enable those in need to stay in their homes, in safety and with dignity. In many cases, the individuals they serve don’t have family members nearby who can assist them. CCGD services foster independence with dignity, while at the same time providing meaningful volunteer opportunities and creating a more caring community. CCGD covers the towns of Chester, Danville, Derry, Hampstead, Londonderry, Sandown and Windham.
“We plan to use these funds to invest in staff capacity that will allow us to increase our programming to help even more people,” stated Cindee Tanuma, Executive Director of the Community Caregivers of Greater Derry. “The funds from charitable gaming are critical for nonprofits in New Hampshire, especially with all of the uncertainty surrounding COVID. We still don’t know when people will want to attend fundraising events again. The charitable gaming funds that we have received from Filotimo have allowed us to keep our staff employed and our doors open.”
