Why Donate to Community Caregivers of Greater Derry

Community Caregivers of Greater Derry celebrated its 36th Anniversary in 2024. Although a good portion of our funding comes from the Towns we serve and corporate and private foundations, nearly half of the funding we need to support our work comes from donations from individuals during our Annual Appeal or one of our Fundraising events. We receive no funding from the State of New Hampshire or the federal government.

Funding aside, the communities we serve turn to us because...

  1. Our staff are experts in helping older adults and people with disabilities. Our staff have over 61 years of combined experience and sincerely enjoy working with the population we serve. When vulnerable community members need care outside of our scope, we connect them with other community resources available in the area to help them.
  2. The relationships our staff and volunteers develop with vulnerable community members help them remain in their own homes for longer with increased safety and dignity. Many of these volunteer matches last for years and become equally rewarding for both the client and the volunteer.
  3. We mobilize our community by recruiting and matching local volunteers with vulnerable neighbors.

Planned Giving

Planned Giving is a way to make a financial gift to Community Caregivers of Greater Derry that will support its mission into the future for years to come.  It might be a bequest made through your will or a gift of common stock through your brokerage account.  Either way, it’s called a “planned gift” because it typically involves planning on both your and our parts. A gift of any size would be greatly appreciated and will help to ensure that Caregivers’ mission of providing assistance and support to elderly and disabled community members will continue to thrive in greater Derry into the future.

With few exceptions, we are currently able to accept gifts of cash and marketable securities.  Please note on your check that your gift is to be earmarked as a planned gift, or have your broker contact our office for delivery instructions for gifts of stock.
Making a bequest to Caregivers is easily accomplished by naming Community Caregivers of Greater Derry in your will or making Caregivers a beneficiary on your life insurance policy or Individual Retirement Account.
